Local Transportation & Directions to the Inn
The municipal subway is just a few steps from our door, affording easy access to the
Opera, Symphony Hall, and theaters. Chinatown, the Financial District and the fabulous
shopping of Union Square; all are only minutes away. The Subway will also take you to the
Embarcadero at the foot of Market Street where you may board a ferry to picturesque
Sausalito.
MUNI, the municipal transportation system, includes the subway described above, plus
traditional buses, antique trolley cars, and the famous Cable Car System. You can visit
Japan Centre via the bus you catch just north of the Inn. The Antique trolleys run along
market street only a half a block from the Inn. The trolleys run from the intersection of
"Castro & Market" to Fisherman's Wharf.
On ballgame nights, all underground lines connect to PacBell Stadium.
The entire region is served by BART. You can connect to BART at 16th and Mission St. or
at the Civic Center. BART extends throughout the region, including Berkeley, the Oakland
Airport, and from Daly City to Richmond to Concord to Fremont.
